Hometown Soccer has partnered with MLS and KKR to bring new clubs and purpose-built stadiums to cities across North America. Middlesex County is first.
New York City FC has established one of the most productive player development pipelines in Major League Soccer. Through MLS NEXT Pro, the club has consistently developed and promoted talent to the MLS first team and beyond, producing players who have gone on to represent clubs and national teams at the highest levels of the game. That track record comes to Middlesex County. New York City FC will oversee all sporting operations for the club, bringing professional coaching, elite player development infrastructure, and a direct pathway to MLS from Central New Jersey.
About MLS NEXT Pro
MLS NEXT Pro is the official professional development league of Major League Soccer, connecting elite youth soccer to MLS first teams. Launched in 2022, the league enters its fifth season in 2026 with 30 clubs across the U.S. and Canada. More than 200 players have signed with MLS first teams after competing in MLS NEXT Pro. The stars of today and tomorrow play here every week.

New York City FC is a Major League Soccer club founded in 2015 and competing out of New York City. One of the most recognized clubs in American soccer, NYCFC has built a reputation for developing elite professional talent and competing at the highest levels of MLS.
Through MLS NEXT Pro, New York City FC has proven their ability to identify and develop the next generation of professional players, producing talent that has gone on to compete in MLS, on national teams, and at clubs around the world. LEADERSHIP
Brady O’Connor, President
Brady O’Connor most recently served as the Chief of External Affairs for the FIFA World Cup 26 New York New Jersey Host Committee. Brady’s responsibilities include supporting outreach & stakeholder engagement, intergovernmental affairs coordination, external stakeholder communications, and collaborating with the Commercial Program to reach commercial and fundraising goals, including managing the Host Committee Donor Program.
Before joining the Host Committee, Brady served as the Chief of Staff to the President & CEO of Choose New Jersey, the State’s leading marketing & business attraction non-profit, where he was responsible for supporting the CEO, managing external stakeholder communications, and leading the coordination of cross-departmental operations, including domestic and international trade and business development missions.
Prior to joining Choose New Jersey, Brady served as the Special Assistant to Governor Phil Murphy for the Governor’s first term, notably working on the FIFA World Cup 26 New York New Jersey bid committee.
A lifelong soccer fan, Brady received a Bachelor of Arts in Environmental Studies with a minor in Public Policy from Ramapo College of New Jersey where he currently serves on the Board of Trustees and played on the Men's Soccer team.
